MEET OUR TEAM

We are a driven team of young experts focused on providing innovative solutions for the Chinese wine market.

Leading the team is Alejandro, graduated in 2013 with distinction in a master of science in International Management for China by the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and serial entrepreneur in China. Alejandro currently leads several projects and works as Research Manager for Wine Intelligence and also as a Host for Imperial Tours sharing his expertise about China. Alejandro accumulates a wide experience in China having worked in China for corporations such as Acerinox and studied at prestigious universities such as Peking or Fudan. As expert in China, Alejandro also is the author of the blog ‘Sensing the Dragon’.

Yin, graduated in 2015 from the Southwest University of Science and Technology with one-year exchange experience in Chile in 2014, showed her ability and passion in project planning and organization during the university and subsequent working projects. Yin started to get to know the wine industry in 2015 and since then has participated in numerous wine fairs and projects where she has acquired very valuable knowledge and experience. Yin speaks Chinese Mandarin, English and Spanish and she is a key team member developing communications strategies for our clients.

We created The Wine Link in reaction to seeing wine producers and trade bodies struggling to grow awareness of their wines though agents offering fixed-packages which had limited impact upon consumer awareness, and did not help the wineries learn about this challenging market. We specialise in commercial missions for wineries willing to enter the Chinese wine market, we cater for the winery’s needs and aim to provide a real experience and understanding of their target market. We believe in building partnerships. We aim to increase awareness and provide the necessary strategic advice and understanding of the Chinese wine landscape for those who really want to be part of this market. From selecting the right channels to selecting the region to understanding the consumer behaviour, we address your specific needs. Event management. Market research. We participate actively in market research through our links with Wine Intelligence and we can also provide direct group consumer feedback. For corporate, we focus our training on providing not only the wine knowledge specific to your wine list but also growing the confidence for your staff to incentivize knowledgeable consumers. An integral part of our training incorporates tutored tastings and food-pairing. Our multicultural team means we can provide your training and sales pitch advice in Chinese, English, French and Spanish. Our material not only covers specific knowledge about categories, styles, the rationale behind food-pairing but also service, storage and wine presentation.
